PyData Amsterdam 2026 — Practical Information & FAQ
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to PyData Amsterdam 2026!
PyData Amsterdam takes place over three days. The Main Conference is on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September 2026 at NDSM Loods, followed by a separate Tutorial Day on Saturday 12 September 2026, hosted and sponsored by Xebia.
Please note that Tutorial Day requires a separate ticket. A conference pass does not include Tutorial Day, and a Tutorial Day ticket does not include the Main Conference.

Tutorial Day is hosted and exclusively sponsored by Xebia. Tickets are limited and must be purchased separately from the conference ticket.
Main Conference — 10 & 11 September
When should I arrive?
Thursday
Registration and breakfast start at 08:00, followed by the official opening at 09:00. We recommend arriving early enough to register, collect your badge, have breakfast, and find the right room before the opening session.
Friday
Registration and breakfast start at 08:30, with the first keynote beginning at 09:00.
What does the conference program look like?
The Main Conference includes keynotes and talks across four parallel tracks, with breaks, lunch, and networking opportunities throughout both days.
The full program is available through the official PyData Amsterdam program page. As schedules may still change, check the latest version shortly before the event.
Is food included?
Yes. On both days of the conference, breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, and drinks are provided.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
If you provided dietary information during registration, the catering team will take this into account.

Is drinking water available?
Yes. We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle.
Tutorial Day — 12 September
Where is Tutorial Day?
Tutorial Day takes place at Xebia's Amsterdam office on Saturday 12 September.
When should I arrive?
Registration starts at 09:30, and the first tutorial starts at 10:00.
We recommend arriving before 10:00 so you have enough time to check in, get settled, and set up your laptop.
Do I need a separate Tutorial Day ticket?
Yes.
A Tutorial Day ticket gives access only to Saturday's Tutorial Day. If you also want to attend the Main Conference on Thursday and Friday, you need a conference pass as well.
Likewise, regular conference passes cover the two conference days only; Tutorial Day is not included.
What should I bring for Tutorial Day?
We recommend bringing your laptop and charger, particularly for sessions you intend to follow hands-on.
Check the description of your chosen tutorial before attending for any session-specific requirements or prerequisites.
Because the current program is still subject to updates, check the official schedule shortly before the event.
Is lunch provided?
Yes.
Getting to the Main Conference
Where is NDSM Loods?
The Main Conference takes place at NDSM Loods in Amsterdam-Noord.
How do I get there from Amsterdam Central Station?
A convenient way to reach the NDSM area is by ferry F4 from the north side of Amsterdam Central Station.
You can also use other forms of public transport. The area can be reached via Noorderpark metro station, followed by bus 391 or 394.
Check the current GVB journey planner before travelling, as ferry and bus schedules can change.
Can I pay for public transport with my bank card?
Yes. Amsterdam public transport supports OVpay, allowing you to check in and out using a contactless debit or credit card or compatible phone. Make sure you use the same payment method when checking in and out.
I’m coming from Schiphol Airport. What should I do?
Trains connect Schiphol Airport with Amsterdam Central Station. From Central Station, continue towards NDSM using the ferry/public transport connections.
You can also use OVpay with a contactless debit card for train travel in the Netherlands.
Can I come by car?
Yes, but public transport or cycling is recommended where possible. Paid parking is available around the NDSM Wharf.
Can I come by bike?
Yes. NDSM is accessible by bicycle, and combining a bike journey with the ferry is a common way to reach Amsterdam-Noord.

What ticket do I need?
There are separate tickets for the Main Conference and Tutorial Day.

Tutorial Day must be purchased separately.
I have a student ticket. Do I need proof?
Yes. The Student Conference Pass is for current students only, and a valid student ID is required for entry.

Do I need to print my ticket?
No, you can also show your digital ticket on your phone when you check in.
Will I get a badge?
Yes, you will receive a badge with your name when you check in. It’s important that you wear your badge on both days.

Yes, you will receive the Wi-Fi details when you check in.
Do I need a laptop?
For the Main Conference, a laptop is optional.
For Tutorial Day, we recommend bringing a laptop and charger, particularly if you want to participate in hands-on technical sessions.
Check individual tutorial descriptions for any prerequisites or software you may need.

PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, and attendees are expected to follow the NumFOCUS Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct applies to NumFOCUS events and associated event spaces and activities.
